GUSTAVO MORLES is a specialist in corporate planning and strategy execution. He has held senior executive positions such as Chief Financial Officer or Chief Operating Officer of several startups.

GUSTAVO MORLES teaches Economics, Economic Geography, International Management and Corporate Planning.  His principal research interest is the Economic Thought of the Catholic Church.  He believes in economic freedom, private property, choice and the power of consumers expressed trough open markets.

He is  Managing Director / Head of M&A of American Merchant Banking Group, a boutique investment banking firm in Coral Gables, Florida. AMBG, in business for 22 years, is the exclusive sourcer for several private equity funds.

Previously he was the Chief Financial Officer of American Empire Builders, Inc; a multi-million dollar heavy construction sub-contractor, qualified as a Community Small Business Enterprise and a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise in Miami-Dade County. American Empire Builders specializes in concrete piling, foundation, and bridge work. He was CFO/COO of BodyWell Nutrition; and CFO of The Aramis Yacht Club. As Senior VP Business Development and Content for local startup YUPI INTERNET, until its acquisition by Microsoft in 2001, he was intimately involved in rising over $150 million in capital from the likes of Sony, News Corp, Comcast and Bank of America.

Since 2003, he teaches Graduate and Undergraduate Economics at the University of Phoenix. He holds an advanced degree in Economics from Sorbonnne University in Paris, France; and two Bachelor Degrees from The University of Tulsa (Tulsa, OK) one in Economics and one in Petroleum Engineering.
